WALLS, Alma - It is with heavy hearts, but prayerful gratitude for the longevity of her life with us, that we announce the death of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Alma.
This "gentle woman" spent her final hours very peacefully, embracing the prayers, love and encouragement of her children and the remarkable care of the support team in her home (for the past several years), The Village at Mill Creek, on the morning of May 15, 2011.
Predeceased by her husband Clayton (1969), daughter, Kathleen (2004), and granddaughter Shelley (1981), Mom was the last surviving of thirteen children born to George and Louise Archambault. Left to celebrate her long, wonderful life with us, are her children: Maurice(Sherry), Gerald (Sharon), Patrick (Sharon), Willie (Laura), Lori (Guy), Fran(Rock), Bernadette, and Michael (Diane),twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Mom was born in a small French-speaking hamlet of Ste. Amelie, Manitoba in 1919. The family eventually settled in the Kootenay region of B.C. where she met the love of her life, Clayton. They were married in Creston in 1937. Together, their remarkable family journey took them to Trail, Port Alberni, and eventually to Kelowna in 1954.
There will be a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 (NOON) on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 839 Sutherland Ave. with Celebrants, Fr.Charles Mulvihill, Fr. Don Wilson and Fr. Peter Tompkins. Cremation will follow. The family will hold a private interment in the Catholic Cemetery on Casorso Road on Friday, May 20th.
