WAKAL, Karen Ann

WAKAL, Karen Ann - Of Kelowna, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 66 years old.

Karen was born October 23, 1942 in Vita, Manitoba. She is survived by her three children: Heidi Bernard, Kirstin Lesosky (James) and Natasha Campbell (Roy); grandchildren - Alexandra and Rachael Lesosky, April and Sean Campbell, her mother Doris Pare, dear friend Rudy Koenig and also her church family and numerous friends. Predeceased by her husband Alexander Wakal (2002).

Memorial Service to take place on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Rd, West Kelowna. Service will be officiated by Pastor Skutshek with luncheon to follow. Karen will be remembered for her free spirit, encouraging words and caring heart. She leaves a legacy of love of life.

All who knew her loved her, and she will be greatly missed. The family takes comfort knowing that Karen is with Our Lord, fully restored, complete and dwelling in perfect Love.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff at KGH, the Cancer Clinic and Hospice House for their care of Karen through her final years.
