VOLPATTI, Ida Marie

Forever in our hearts!

Ida Marie Volpatti passed away peacefully with her family by her side at home on August 20th, 2011 at the age of 88 years.

Ida was born on May 28th, 1923 in Naples, AB, where she lived until she relocated to Vancouver, BC to live with her brother Mosa. She returned to home briefly to care for her father and it was on her next move to Vancouver, BC where she captured the heart of Joseph Volpatti. The two were married in 1948 in Barrhead, AB. They made their home in Port Kells, BC where they began their life together as dairy farmers and had their four children. In 1963 Ida and Joseph moved their family to Enderby, BC. Ida loved to prepare meals for her friends and family and was well known for her pies. No one ever went hungry in her kitchen! She had a unique sense of humour. Ida and Joseph farmed until 1994 when they retired from running the dairy.

Ida was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her great-grandchild Brooklyn. She is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children Anita (Al) Dobie, Dennis (Christine) Volpatti, Loretta (Emil) Prevost, and Reno (Sandra) Volpatti; her grandchildren Karine (Kyle), Brent (Aletha), Kristy (Dave), Randy, Kevin (Dani), Jennifer (Chris), Gina, Trevor (Amy), Vanessa, and Craig; and her great-grandchildren Ethan, Ashton, Samuel, and Cameron.

A Celebration of Ida's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at the Riverside Community Hall (3784 Trinity Valley Road, Enderby BC).

If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
