I knew Lavone many years ago and we always had nice visits whenever we bumped into each other. She was a sweet soul, a little shy and always nice. I would imagine she was a very good teacher. Our loss is heaven's gain. I'll look forward to catching up with you there Lavone.

Lavone was my grade 2 teacher from September 1972 to June 1973 In DeHart Primary. Back then she was Miss Reichert. She was the strictest teacher I ever had she wanted respect, she got respect, she gave respect and became one of my best teachers. Fast forward many years later I was working as a cashier at Extra Foods. This lady would come into the store every Friday at 5 PM. She looked familiar but her name didn't until one night I followed her out of the store. She got into an early 70s light blue Ford car I said to myself OMG it's Miss Reichert. I went up to her and said were you a teacher in the early 70s at DeHart Primary. She replied yes I was. I said you were my teacher and she replies and what was your name? I told her my name and her reply to me was I remember you, you were the shy, long blond hair, sweet girl who got sick in my class. Yes she remembered me because I got sick in her class. The only kid in her teaching career who got sick in her class. From then on every Friday she would come to my til until I left after that we'll bump into each other once in a while. But it was always nice to see her. I remember in grade 2 all the kids thought she was bald she used to wear a curled up behive on top of her head. Although we never knew if she was or not but now looking back I think she wore a hairpiece. We left music because she used to play the piano. In those days our mornings used to start off with Bible scripture the Lord's prayer and all Canada was sung. If you weren't paying attention in Bible scripture she would ask a question about it everyone always paid attention. Although she was very strict we learned a lot in her class.
