URSULAN, Joyce
URSULAN, Joyce

URSULAN, Joyce - Mom was born in Leross, SK on March 19, 1931. Went to school to be a teacher. Taught at Mission Lake School south of Quinton SK. Met Steve and became a farmer’s wife 1952, they moved to Yorkton in 1960 with three children and number four on the way. Mom was a very caring and generous person. She went to work as a store clerk, so that her brood could do many activities in school and out. Mom was the best cheerleader at baseball games, hockey games, all our school activities and helped us with all our school work. Encouraging us to do our best in whatever we did. Mom was also involved with the church and always helped out when she could. When dad and mom decided to retire in Kelowna, it was very difficult to leave all her good friends. Mom was very excited to have her grandchildren come to visit. She was always doing something to keep them amused and busy learning different things about the great big world through a child's eye. She instilled the values of life, and the respect for others by living her life for others. When family or friends came to visit, you had to stay for at least one meal, and the meals were always great. Her faith was strong when she was a young woman and grew stronger and stronger as her life went on. When she became ill her faith in Jesus carried her to this very special day of triumph. She is now where she deserves to be, free of all her bodily pain. She has started a new life, of the spirit.

Joyce passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital on June 5, 2011. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years Steve, four children Darcy, Gary (Colleen), Karen (Vern Scott) and Garnet, five grandchildren Jamie, Tyler, Dylan (Danielle), Quinton and Stefen, and one great granddaughter Aislinn.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Holy Spirit Church, 1260 Neptune Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made either to Diabetes or Cancer Care in Joyce’s memory.
