STEWART, Ronald

STEWART, Ronald - Passed away peacefully after a short illness, will be missed forever by his wife Linda of 39 years and his three sons Jeffery (Kathy), Terry (Ramona) and Robert; three grandchildren Jessica, Faye and Jeremy; nieces Sharon Stroick, Ramona (Joe) Dragani and great nephew Jarrett Dragani; sister-in-law Wilma (Roy) Cabot.

Born in Calgary, Ron had a distinguished career in hockey. First winning the Memorial Cup with the Guelph Biltmores, and then drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs. During his time with the Maple Leafs he made five Stanley Cup appearances, winning three. Moving on to play with the Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders, playing a total of 1,353 games over his 21 year career. Ron went to coach the WHL Portland Buckaroos, winning the Calder Cup with the AHL Springfield Indians. He then went on to coaching in the NHL, New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings, retiring from hockey in the late 70
