SOKOL, Katherina

SOKOL, Katherina

With heavy hearts the family of Katherina Sokol announce the passing of our dear sister, auntie and friend. The Lord took our loved one peacefully in her sleep on September 23, 2018 at the age of 92. She will always be remembered by her sister Theresia Ritz and brother-in-law Frank Ritz, her nephew Frank Ritz Jr (Angie), her niece Rosemarie Ritz and grand niece and nephews Katherine (Filip), Frank Jr. and Adam. Predeceased by her loving husband William in 2011 and parents Theresia and Andreas Rechner.
Katherina loved her garden of incredible flowers of chrysanthemums and African violets. She also loved our family of dogs (Bella, Dixie, Tazzie and Ra). She worked hand in hand with her loving husband on their orchard.
One of the biggest enjoyments in her life, was to lavish her family lovingly with her exceptional cooking, loved by many were her cabbage rolls and heavenly potato salad. She so enjoyed treating her loved ones to delicious baking like her strawberry chocolate shortcake. She was also an expert crocheter. She was a great blessing to all and we will miss her terribly.
Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, BC. Interment to follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer

I have missed seeing Katherina over the past few years. She & Theresia would come in together to pay their water bills and they were always smiling and happy, a real joy to behold. I know that her family will miss her dearly - a very special lady. My condolences to the entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Sincerely, Jo-Ann Redlich (SEKID)

Katarina was a lovely lady. Her and her sister used to come into Walmart fabric department for fabric, she told me many stories of her family. I just loved talking to both sisters.

    May she RIP.
