SMITH, Ada (Clement)
SMITH, Ada (Clement)

Smith, Ada (Clement)
September 13, 1916 – January 12, 2012

Born in Melita, Manitoba to Charles and Alice Clement. Predeceased by her husband Peter and son, Kenneth. Survived by children, Rita Smith (Dave Hannam), Richard Smith (Diana)and Jayne Conley (Bill). Grandchildren; Shawna, Peter, Jim, Kevin, Crystal, Ryan, Tyler, Keaton, David and Robbie. Great-grandchildren; Steven, Keith, Kiefer, Austin, Hudson, Geran, Nashville and Jennifer.

Naming all her brothers and sisters in order, was always a bit of a game for mom...Bill, Lizzie, Lela, Cora, Stella, Vera, Agnes, Charlie, Ethel, Ada, Edna and Jim.

Music and dance were very important in Mom’s life. She was a great piano player and always said the only downfall to playing piano is that she couldn’t dance at the same time. Her lucky number was 13. Born on September 13th and when she turned 13 years old, it was Friday the 13th. She was the last of her generation of the Clement family.

Thank you to Dr. Hignell and the staff of Brandt’s Creek Mews (Cherry court) who showed great caring and compassion for mom in her last days.

Miss you forever, Mom!

Condolence Messages
  • You will be missed Auntie Ada. You always showed us all that life was to be lived. You could out dance all of us and you laugh was contagious. I will remember my time spent with you. You are now in the arms of the love of your life forever and my mom and dad. I wish I could be at that party! I love you and will miss you.

With love always, your niece Julie (Janie's sidekick) Jan 13, 2012

  • Ada Smith was always lively and entertaining. She had many interesting stories to share of being the 13th child and how life was way back then. She had twinkling blue eyes and quick hand's on the piano. I was at her home many times with my best friend Rita and she always welcomed me and treated me very nicely. A nice long life was fitting for such a special person and I know your large family of children and grandchildren will miss you very much. My condolences to Rita, Jaynie & Rick and the rest of the family.
