SKOLOS, Chester

Chester passed away at the age of 94 on August 22, 2013, at Hospice House in Kelowna. He is survived by his son Roy Skolos (Brenda) of Kimberley, BC, daughter Starla Kowal (Vic) of Kelowna, daughter Colleen Jensen (Alyn) of Chipman, NB, and grandchildren Anna-Marie Skolos, Chet Skolos, and Grant Skolos. He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Kay) and his son Murray.

Chester was born in Dalton, Saskatchewan. Besides serving with the Armed Forces in World War 2, he farmed in Saskatchewan and also worked at several jobs in the lumber, mining and power generation fields. After moving to BC and settling in the Aldergrove area, he concluded his working career as a utilities foreman with the Municipality of Langley.

After his retirement, Chester and Kay moved to Abbotsford and divided their time for some years between a home there and one in Phoenix, Arizona. They moved to Kelowna in 1999 where they resided first at Shaughnessy Green and then at the Chatsworth Retirement residence.

Chester was a keen card player and an avid fan of the Vancouver Canucks since that team
