SCHLEPPE, Jackie

Jackie passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1, 2019 at the age of 68 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Mike, and their three children: Jason (Misty) and their children Abby and Cole, Tara (Jeffrey) Shanks and their children Madison, Tristan and Nathan, and Ryan (Ashley) and their children Taylor, Chase and Brantley.
Jackie will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her infectious personality, her hilarious sense of humour, and her adventurous spirit. Jackie was deeply loved and made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be profoundly missed.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 1:00 pm at the Kelowna and District Fish and Game Club, 4087 Casorso Road, Kelowna, BC. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com.

Dear Mike and Family,

I am so saddened and shocked to hear of Jackie's passing. She was an amazing friend to me in junior high and we had so much fun together. Although we kept in touch for several years mainly through letter writing (Christmas letters were a highlight), I always hoped to reconnect. I am sad I will never be able to see Jackie again. I can only imagine how your family is dealing with this loss and I am thinking of you.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Jackie's passing. We lived on Miller Road for 17 years, 9 years as your next door neighbors. Our kids have lots of memories of growing up there, attending SK Elementary. Jackie was a sweet lady and we are so sorry for your loss. There are just no other words except that time heals. We go back a long long time with so memories of things we did together. Like everyone says she had that rare sparkle in her eyes and a beautiful smile. She was a true friend. Keep thinking of all the good memories.

As neighbours for 35 years I will always remember Jackie's big smile hello as she rode by on her horse. Many times I heard her laugh floating through the air and it always made me smile and feel a little bit better. We will always have fond memories of her.

I was shocked to read this. I thought Jackie would live forever. I taught with Jackie for a couple of years at Lakeview Elementary and we had some great and very memorable experiences- many 'laughers' that I don't think i should share here. But, every time I crossed paths with her I knew we had that special bond. Losing ones parter is awful (been there) but I know you, Mike, have many, many memories that will lead you through this. Such a beautiful picture of a beautiful lady both inside and out...you can almost hear her infectious laugh. Rob and I were devastated to hear of Jackie's passing. Every time I ran into Jackie we laughed and hugged. I can still see the glisten in her eye as we chased the Alaskan Malamute puppies (and kids) around your yard...some 36ish years ago until we picked the "perfect" one for us. Jackie truly loved people and animals and proved that every day.

So sorry to hear of Jackie's sudden passing. Only a month ago we had the privilege of meeting up with you on your trip south and spending a couple of days visiting. Jackie was a great navigator and the both of you directed us to some historical sites that we never would have known about without your and Jackie's guidance. Schleppe family, I am so terribly saddened to hear of Jackie's sudden passing. I use to babysit Jason, Tara and Ryan when I was a teenager. I looked forward to babysitting the Schleppe kids as they were so well behaved and their house was always full of so much laughter and love (not to mention Mike and Jackie paid really well!) I have fond memories of watching Jackie put on the finishing touches to her outfit when her and Mike were heading out for the evening and thinking how incredibly beautiful she was, and what a lovely life she had. Mike, I'm so shocked and sorry to hear of Jackie's passing. I've known Jackie for 52 years and remember the fun and crazy times we had together! We ran into each a few times in the last few years and kept saying we have to get together.......but didn't. I'm so glad I got to chat with her at our school reunion in September.
