SCHEER, Helen

Passed away January 17, 2017 at the age of 86. Survived by her loving husband Mike; daughter Leslie (Doug) Whitney of Crawford Bay, BC, Stephanie Scheer of Victoria, BC; son Greg (Susan) Scheer of Nanaimo, BC; grandchildren: Stan and Elizabeth Whitney, Amy Whitney, Lindsay Scheer; great grandchildren: Jordan and Harmony Whitney; brothers: John of Calgary, Alfie of Victoria, Herbert of Surrey and Gary of Cranbrook. Predeceased by her sisters Caroline and Mary. Helen was born into the Kobley family on August 14, 1930 in Schuler, Alberta. She married Mike in October of 1950. They moved to Kelowna in 1956 and has been their home ever since. Helen loved being a homemaker, mother, wife and friend. Caring for her family was her passion. Baking, cooking fabulous meals, entertaining family and friends, she loved this all. She also loved to travel with her kids and later she later she and Mike travelled the world. Helen loved to play cards, bowl and play the slots. Mike and Helen squared danced for some 50 years with the
