It is with great sadness, yet unending love for his life with us, that we announce the death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Vernon.
This gentle and humble man spent his final, peaceful hours, in the wonderful care of the support team at the Village at Smith Creek where he passed away on July 9th after a brief illness.Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Emma, his son Allan, daughter Linda, and his beautiful granddaughters, Chelsea and Brittany. He will be missed by numerous relatives and many friends.Vernon was born in Frenchman Butte, Saskatchewan in 1927. In 1950 he moved to Edmonton, Alberta where he met the love of his life, Emma. Twenty-one years later (1973) they decided to move to Kelowna. They fell in love with the weather, four distinct seasons and the bounty of fresh fruit from the orchards in the summer.Vernon will be remembered as a musician, a family man with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humour.

Inurnment will take place on Saturday, July 16th at 1:30 P.M. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens (2850 Dry Valley Rd.), followed by the church service at 2:30 P.M. at the Salvation Army Community Church at 1480 Sutherland Ave.
Donations in Vernon's memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
