ROBINSON, Joan (Allison Margaret)

Joan (Allison Margaret) Robinson passed away with her family at her side on May 31, 2017 at the age of 83. She is survived by her loving husband John of 62 years; her only beloved daughter Shona (Howard Sired) and their children, Sarah and Owen. Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Hamilton McLaughlin as well as her four brothers all of Holywood, Northern Ireland. Although Joan lived most of her life in Canada her heart remained in County Down. Joan

Joan and I worked at Glenmore Elementary for many years and she became a dear friend. We shared a love of books and PBS television series. My thoughts go out to John, Shona and her family. I also remember what a great baker she was- oh, those scones! We laughed and cried together and I will always remember those years.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I have many happy memories of Joan from our days together at Glenmore Elementary. She was a kind, gentle soul.
