PURVES, Ken Allen

PURVES, Ken Allen

Ken passed away very peacefully at KGH while watching a video of his grandson, Gavin playing hockey on Friday October 11, 2019. He had no fear and knew Jesus was in him and with him. He had suffered much in the past year but never complained and only became more peaceful as time went on. Ken was always known as a kind, gentle and generous man. He loved fishing, camping in his motorhome and finding treasures at garage sales. He volunteered many hours to lend a hand to people who were not as fortunate. Celebrating Ken’s life are his wife Carol Purves, his daughter Nicole Purves of Salmo, BC, son Shaun Purves (Jackie) of Kitchener, ON, son Michael Coyle (Sylvia Fuller) of Squamish, BC and his stepchildren Bruce (Heather) of Edmonton, Doug (Michelle) of Coldstream and Jeff (Jaimie) Fleck of Kelowna, along with his adored grandchildren Samantha Bellows, Quinn Clark, Kieran Morrow, Eamon Coyle, the Fleck kids (Gavin, Haylee, Davis, Jacob, Spencer and Preslee) and one great-grandchild, Rowan Bellows. Also left to mourn are his sister Laura Redner (Ron) Bob Purves (Carol) Barry Purves (Therese) Stan Purves (Kathy). Ken was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Purves, brother Jim and first wife Lavilla Purves. Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 17th, 2019 at 2:00pm at Everden Rust Funeral Services. 1910 Windsor Rd. Cemetery interment will be at 12:00 noon at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery 1991 Bernard Ave. Kelowna. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses at 4A and 3E and all the doctors at the Kelowna General Hospital for their compassionate care of Ken. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to pay it forward in kindness as Ken has done all his life. Support someone who needs help or is homeless. Volunteer at the Gospel Mission. Consider being an organ donor or support those who become donors. Help others as Ken has done all of his life. Do it in Ken’s name.
