Born April 11, 1917 in Vancouver, B.C. Eldest of 5 children of the late Albert T. Powers and Annie J. Cederholm, and widow of S.W. Potter. Passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016 in Kelowna, B.C., age 99. A resident of Kelowna since moving from Edmonton in 1988. Survived by son Edwin (Barb) Simpkins of Comox, B.C., daughter Debra (Laird) Bowie of Kelowna. Also survived by 7 grandchildren; Kim, Steve, Kathy, Jessica (David), Michael (Alya), Tristan and Spencer (Alyssa), 5 great-grandchildren; Kari (Chris), Ashley, Ryan, Amy and Hana and 2 great-great-grandchildren Tenley and Tegan, along with many nieces, nephews (thank you Ron), step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Leslie (Fernie) and Keith (Ev), sister Bernice (Joe) and step daughter Jean. Survived by sister Lurline Holinshead of Calgary, AB. Cremation with no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Elsie to the charity of your choice.
