PILON, Helen

Helen Pilon (nee Nellie Drummond), 100 years young of West Kelowna, Passed away March 14, 2019, with her family by her side.
She was born in Bannockburn, Scotland April 5, 1918. Her family immigrated to Canada when she was 6 years old. She was the youngest of 8 siblings all now passed. She was married to the late Oscar Pilon for 25 years and they lived together in Vancouver and had 3 children, Thomas, Diane and Darlene. After Darlene passed away at age 38, she moved to Victoria and lived with Diane for 18 years. After that she resided at Marion Village Assisted Living in Oak Bay until 2009. She then moved to West Kelowna to be closer to her family and resided at the Lakeview Lodge until her death.
Nellie used to play the piano and she could blow a good tune out on her harmonica. She loved music and she loved to sing and dance. She had 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and she loved them all very much. She loved to play games with the family and her favorite saying while rolling the dice was

    I was amazed to see that Aunt Nell had made it to 100! What a milestone!

    Even though I haven't seen her for many years, I thought that she still looked beautiful.
