PEPPLER, Douglas Michael Raymond

DOUGLAS MICHAEL RAYMOND PEPPLER, 41, died Monday, November 13, 2017 in Kelowna following complications from a lung infection.

He is survived by his spouse Kanjana Wongkingsri; his parents Leslie and Ray (Carla) Peppler; his siblings Annette, Corinne (John) Jones and Mark. He also leaves to mourn a nephew Lance Peppler; nieces Emily and Julie Jones and Kaitlin Peppler; his aunts Beverley (Matthew) Paetz, Roberta Flint and Rebecca Mullan; cousins Christopher Paetz, Erin and Ryan Mullan; his great aunt Loretta Marquis, and his in-laws Ratree (Ralph) Wirblich, Wijittra Wongkingsri and Julianna Wirblich and his godfather Cyril Mullan. He was predeceased by his grandparents Ben and Thelma Peppler and Theodore and Rita Flint and his cousin David Paetz.

Doug was born on July 15, 1976 in Edmonton and lived most of his formative years in neighboring St. Albert. He attended St. Albert High School and N.A.I.T. where he earned his journeyman's certificate in heavy duty mechanics. Doug was loyal to family and friends. He loved water activities, the outdoors, travelling and adventure and was loved for his good looks, his charismatic personality, his infectious laugh and his sense of humour.
Doug endured many trying times in his life, particularly when he sustained a workplace injury that left him a quadriplegic five years ago.

Cremation was held in Kelowna. A Celebration of Life will be held in Edmonton at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Mission in Edmonton, any organization serving the homeless in Kelowna or the Easter Seals of Canada.

    Doug was a rarity, being a true and loyal friend. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. His mischievous grin will always be remembered along with his graciousness and comical personality.     I'm so sad to read about Doug's passing. Even with all the adversities he faced, he was always up beat and positive. We had so many good conversations and I appreciated his candor. We will miss him at our branch. We extend our sincere condolences to his family. May you find comfort in the memories you will forever treasure in your hearts.
