PEDERSON, Robert (Bob) Karre

PEDERSON, Robert (Bob) Karre

Our Hero

Bob was born in Edmonton, AB on August 25, 1936 and passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2017 in Kelowna, BC. Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Carol in 2006. He is survived by many family and friends who loved him. He was so lucky to have found his partner Wendy Wallace in his later years.

Missing him every day are Wendy, his son’s Matt and Don (Nancy). Bob was so proud of all of his grandchildren. Leaving him to grieve are Matt’s children; Kennedy (Tony), Mattaya, and Hunter & Don and Marlene’s children; William (Brittany), Michael (Gabrielle), Lisa (Brian), Kristy (Cassie), and Jeffrey. And of course his special great-grandson Ryder. Many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends will also miss Bob immensely.

Bob grew up in Vancouver, and moved to Prince Rupert where he married Caroline and raised their two boys. Bob started work as a longshoreman, and later went on to work for CN Railroad. He owned his own electrical contracting company Reliable Electric, and branched off into sports fishing charters later on in his life.

Bob had so many passions in life. He loved his family very most of all. He loved traveling to the Fountain of Youth in California every winter to escape the cold. He loved slot machines, both at the casino and online. He loved old country music, family dinners, playing crib, and of course a stiff rum and coke. He loved fishing on the ocean.

Bob’s health started to decline last year, but he and his family were so happy to be able to celebrate his big 80th birthday in Kelowna this past August.

His family would like to thank all of the nurses, doctors, support staff, KGH 5B and Rutland and KGH dialysis teams, and so many others. There are too many to thank, you have all been amazing and went above and beyond for Bob. In lieu of flowers, if you feel so inclined, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated (www.kidney.ca).

For anybody who wishes to attend and say their final goodbyes, a viewing will be held Saturday May 20th, from 3:30-5:00pm at Everden Rust Funeral Services in Kelowna B.C, with a celebration to follow afterwards. Please contact family for details.

My condolences to all the family. Bob was a very nice fellow, well loved and liked by those that knew him. ...I went to school with Bob in Rupert when we were younger. His dad worked on the CNR and I was on the train often as well, but I was just visiting family in Terrace. Bob and I would chat on the way to Rupert. He will be greatly missed...Bob, rest in peace, Bless you, till we see you again.
