PARR, Joan

PARR, Joan

Joan Parr died peacefully on December 31st 2017 at Kelowna General Hospital. Born February 27th 1931 in Darlington County Durham. Joan is survived by her sons, Stephen (Judy), Chris (Angela), daughter Sue Wellspring (Larry), grandchildren Michael and Samantha Parr and Sage Wellspring as well as her little dog, Bella. She was predeceased by her husband, H.V. (Tom) Parr in 2007. Joan was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion #26 Kelowna. She lived a life full of adventure and her passion for it inspired us all. Whether on her many trips to Mexico, or summers spent at Beaver Lake, she was always surrounded by friends. Her endearing spirit and tender heart have enriched our lives forever. Joan was a woman of faith and one who was not afraid of what changes lay ahead. May we find comfort in this, as this most recent change returned her back to Tom, the man whom she truly loved and whom she created her beautiful life with. She left our hands, only to hold Tom

We were saddened to hear today of Joan's passing. We were neighbours of Steve and Judy for many years and also with Joan when she moved in with her family. She was truly a lady of class. Rest easy.

    To the Parr family,

Back many years ago - Tom and Joan were our neighbour's to the back when we bought our first home in Rutland. Your mom was always full of spunk and I often think of the many conversations we shared over the fence. She was a wonderful lady and she will be missed.

My condolences to Joan's family, such a wonderful lady she was. A ray of sunshine and a source of joy that was Joan. We had many long conversations, she always had time for everyone and was so full of wisdom as well as a great sense of humor, I am sure she will be missed by many. I know I will be one. Gail Schuck

My condolences to the family, Joan was truly a lady, but this lady was full of fun, always smiling, always gracious, and had a great sense of humor. She will be missed by many. I will think of her often, with great respect, and yes admiration for the lady and sweet person with a fantastic personality she was. My memories will return many times when I lift a rock at shuffleboard, as she had the humor of talking to my rock not to take out one of hers, as I said she had a great sense of humor.

Rest in peace my friend, I will miss you.
