1938 - 2013

The Orava and Goldsmith families are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our beloved Louise Goldsmith Orava, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Louise left us too soon on Thursday, February 14, after a sudden and tough-fought illness.

We will miss her deeply loving, adventurous and creative spirit, which live on in her husband Norm, sons Scott (Ginni) of Gilbert, AZ and Steve (Randi) of Arlington, VA, 6 adoring grandchildren (Kasey, Keaton, Jadyn, Jaxon, Jace, and Jagger) and even in her somewhat wild cat, Grace. She was also survived by her brother Robert Goldsmith (Sheila) of Kelowna, BC, brother-in-law Bob (Raija) Orava of New Westminster, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise was a Lady of the Lake Princess in 1955, graduated from KSS and St. Paul's School of Nursing in Vancouver, BC. She will be remembered for her kindness and loving care for others. She excelled in her profession, was an avid bridge player, gardener, and world traveler. African overlanding, safaris, and the Big Cats held a special place in her heart.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, British Columbia/Yukon Office, 3400 Lake City Way, Burnaby, BC, V5A 4Y2.
