Obituaries

It is with sadness that the family of Mary Sylvia Olson (nee Germain) announces her passing, four days after suffering a stroke, on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the age of 79 years.

Born December 23, 1936 at North Pine, near Fort St. John, marriage and the oil business took Mary and the family overseas to Venezuela and Libya before they eventually returned in 1967, settling finally in Coquitlam.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sons; James (Frances) and Dale (Cheryl), grandchildren; Erik, Johnathon, Amelija, Oliver, Zoe, Quinton, her dear friend of 11 years Heinz Stuhlmuller, her brothers Alvin (Sylvia) and Floyd, many cousins, and friends at the Vancouver Golf Club and throughout B.C. Mary was predeceased by her husband John (1992) and beloved daughter Sherry (2005).

Viewing and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 starting at 9:30 AM at Burquitlam Funeral Home (burquitlamfuneralhome.ca).

  Huge hugs and deepest condolences on the loss of your Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in Law and friend to many. I have heard many stories about her life and how she brought up her boys and I know you will miss her dearly. xo
