McKEOWN, David

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the age of 93 years.

Survived by his loving family, two daughters: Karen Thorsell (Stan) of Kelowna, Kollene McKeown (Jack Burman) of Ajax, ON; four grandchildren: Kellie (Greg) Meier, Kim (Perry) Wack, Kyle (Felecia) Thorsell, Nancy Sloan-Gioia; seven great grandchildren: Amber Katelyn, Dylan, Keaton, Karrson, Davin, Mia and Ian; sister Mildred Quarin (Ricci) of Maple Ridge; a good friend Irene Alexander as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandson K.D. Wardstrom, son Kenneth David, his wife Hazel, two sisters: Hazel Clark and Jean Rossum.

Special thanks to Dr. Schriemer and the staff at David Lloyd Jones Home for their care and compassion for Dave, “Papa”.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United, 3131 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, BC, with Rev. Wayne Laurie officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 6450 Roberts Street, Suite #150, Burnaby, BC, V5G 4E1.
