MCNAUGHT, Tom

MCNAUGHT, Tom

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Tom, on September 5th, 2022. He passed in hospital after an heroic 15 year battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving partner and friend of 36 years, Lee, his son James, his brother William (Bernice) of Toronto, and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his younger brother John and his sister Heather.

Born on October 9th, 1950 in Kingston, Ontario, he arrived in Kelowna at the age of 21 and stayed to make it his home. He and James shared a love of road trips, camping and the outdoors. He was an avid rockhound his entire life. Recently, he loved to drive across the country to meet friends and family in Ontario for mineral collecting, especially to Thunder Bay for amethyst.

Thank you to the many health care workers at Kelowna General Hospital, BC Cancer Society, and especially his wonderful physician Dr. Jennifer Parsons. He was a "Friend of Bill" for 44 years. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 on September 29th, at the Kalano Club, 2108 Vasile Road in Kelowna.

Sorry to add my condolences so late, but I must add them. I hadn't seen Tom for some time but we were good friends probably 40 years ago and had many friends in common including Bill Wilson. He was a gentle soul. R.I.P. Tom

Our Deepest Sympathies. I met Tom about 8 years ago at the Okanagan Gem Show. He helped fuel my rock obsession and Montana Agates. I loved listening to his stories. He will be deeply missed by anyone who happened to meet him at one of our Gem shows. The Okanagan Gem Show will not be the same without him.
