Barbara Mary McConnell West Gaul: May 7,1928- August 22,2011 Barb passed away peacefully at The Village of Smith Creek West Kelowna BC on August 22th. Predeceased by the love of her life, her husband James Alexander McConnell in 1980. Barb remarried Ken West Gaul in 1986 and enjoyed several happy years together. Sadly Ken passed away in 1996. Barb leaves to mourn her children Anita (David), Douglas (Kim), Robert (Sandra), Mac and Frank (Chris); 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, her sister Eileen Williamson (Bill) and her brother Jim Hunt (Ruth) as well as many extended family members and good friend Phyllis Blundell. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Family and friends are gathering in West Kelowna for a private celebration of her life on Friday, August 26th. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society are appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of The Village at Smith creek for care, which ensured a graceful exit for a wonderful lady. Arrangements are entrusted to HANSONS' ARBOR WESTWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL in West Kelowna.
