MARKGRAF, Frieda Anna

Markgraf, Frieda Anna passed away on Thursday, August 16th, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Survived by sons Herb (Johanne) and their children Kim (Gerry) and David (Vicky) and two great-granddaughters (Layla and Sienna), Hank (Darcel) and their sons Roley and Nicky; sister Jutta (Gerhard) Koehler of Germany; nieces and nephews, Barbara (Bruce) Pressman and their children Julia and Joe, Christina (Axel), Thomas, Roland (Bettina). Family expresses fond gratitude to Dr. Dean Griswold and his staff and the Spring Valley Care Team for all the extra care and attention shown to us.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday August 31, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Rev Patricia Giannelia officiating.

I knew Frieda as one of the pioneers of the Kelowna scene. She worked for my wife Julia in the Village Stitchery were life moved at a slower pace than in Kelowna today? She gave you the impression of a gentle and caring person which is exactly what she was. My condolences to the Markgraf family. Bill Stewart

Sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you Henry, Darcel , Roley and Nicky, I know how much your mom and grandma meant to you and how much she loved you guys. Though I haven't seen you or Frieda for a few years I have thought of you guys often. I am thankful I got to know the Markgraf family and share some laughs and memories with Frieda.She was one of my favourites!

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Frieda and I shared our birthday Oct 1st, our first name and the love for Hardanger embroidery. We spent many hours in our late friend Julia's beautiful needlecraft store. Those were the good old

days. Sad that's all gone now, but happy for the memories.
