MACK, Helen (August 13, 1933 - October 20, 2017) - It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Helen Mack (nee Glova) of Kelowna, BC. The third youngest of eight children, Helen is survived by sisters: Mary Polehoyki and Vicky Turanski; daughters, Patricia, Cheryl (Brian), Teresa (Alan) and Christine (Dave); grandaughters, Jessica (Spencer), Kristin and Jacquelyn. Helen was predeceased by eldest daughter, Beverley and parents, Peter and Clara Glova. Born in Melville, SK, Helen moved to Calgary, AB to pursue a career as a secretary at the Albertan Newspaper. She raised five daughters, then pursued her passion in sewing, including teaching sewing classes at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and designing wardrobes for select clients. Helen moved to Kelowna in 1994 and became involved in the community with sewing as an instructor and an alterationist. Helen was also an avid swimmer, bowler and badminton player. A memorial service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna. Reception to follow.     Helen was a one of a kind individual!!?.. She beat to her own drum.. And beat she did.. unstoppable, she never had a free moment... She was more active than people half her age??.. With such a kind heart and always a smile.. She was a true inspiration and an example of how one should strive to live!!.. I will miss that laugh... and will forever picture that smile!!!..     Helen possessed such a sweet insightful spirit, both stoic and lively. Helen became my neighbour some 5 years ago. Her winning smile and wit were shared freely and she will be sorely missed. Merilyn Bohn
