LESOSKY, Thomas Henry

Thomas Henry Lesosky
1932 - 2018

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Henry Lesosky on Sunday July 1, 2018 at Village at Smith Creek, just 3 days short of his 86th birthday and 5 days short of his 61st wedding anniversary. Thomas (Tom) slipped peacefully away from us as he slept. Among those left to treasure his life and legacy are his wife Pearl, daughter Pamela (Dave), son James, grandchildren Jonathan (Michelle), Alexandra (Judah), Ben, Rachael and Amanda, great grandchildren Caleb, Levi and Mattias, brother Joseph (Lill) and sister Agnes (Ernie).

Tom was born on his family farm at Thalberg, Manitoba on July 4, 1932. He grew up in the area, attending school and helping with farm chores. He was the eldest of 4 children and left home at an early age to pursue a variety of jobs, all with the goal of furthering himself and providing for his family both present and future. Before he was 21 years old he had worked as far east as Toronto and as far west as Vancouver Island. On July 6, 1957 Tom married Pearl Kozyniak and they moved to BC the following year. During his working years, Tom helped establish and run a successful drywall company (Central Drywall). Later he built houses and apartment buildings. The family relocated to the Okanagan Valley in 1974 and Tom continued his entrepreneurial style by setting up and operating a metal door manufacturing plant (D

Dear Pearl, Pam, James and family, so sorry to hear of uncle Tommies passing. I know we weren't actually relatives but you all felt like you were and thinking back all those years ago in New Westminster, living across the lane from each other, I always felt we were. Laughter and plain ole good fun are ingrained in my mind from those times. Reg and I enjoyed our long distance calls from Tommy over the years; we'd laugh and talk about our mom and dad and then he'd want to get caught up on our lives, spouses and kids. I remember him as a kind man with a wonderful laugh. Sure will miss those phone calls!

Love and prayers to all, Beverly (nee Krutow) and Robert Manky

Sorry to hear about it, but this seems to be a more frequent event as I get older. Uncle Tommy gave me a summer job when I was a kid at his factory. It felt good and I was embraced by his close family. I learned a few skills, but also learned that you don't have to be the greatest to be good. As a result of that experience and others I am the man I am today. God Bless Tommy and the rest of our family. Once we accept that God knows more, all things don't seem so important.

Dear Pearl, Pam, James and family,

We are so saddened to learn of Tom's passing. He was a kind, generous, happy and welcoming man. I can't help but recall the many times that he would visit Dan, and then call me to let me know that he had been to see him. Dan used to visit a mutual friend in Oliver once a month or so, and it was so nice that it was returned back to him by his visits from Tom. When I would see 'Lesosky' call display come up on my phone I knew that Tom and Dan had a few laughs that day. I had the opportunity to especially thank Tom for his kindness at a luncheon about a year ago. He will be missed.

    May God bless you all.

    Pearl, Joe, Lil and family,

So incredibly sorry to read of Tom's passing. I was fortunate enough to call Tom a friend and mentor. Tom always had a warm laugh and welcome every time I saw him, I was lucky enough to share personal moments with Tom, from my shop days, golf course events and just plain having a cocktail to talk about life in general. I will miss Tom's laugh and the special times we had together over the last 30 plus years of friendship with Tom. Thanks Tom for the memories!

So many great memories whether at Gull Lake, Teenie's or at Mary's. An infectious smile and hearty laughter which will be remembered forever. I also remember his smiles greeting when he saw his "couzy".

He never failed to stop and see everyone he could when he and Pearl came out every year.

Our condolences to Pearl, Pamela and James. Tommy is now in a better place and looking over you with love.

    Pearl, Pam, James & Family,

I love the picture of Tom or "Tommy" as we knew him! Yes, always a smile! So fortunate to have the Lesosky move to our neighbour in the late 60's. "Candy Man" as he was known to Sherry & Kim.

Tom leaves a wonderful legacy to all!
