LEESON, Eugene Edward

October 6th, 1941 - January 29th, 2018

After a very long struggle with diabetes and complications with his heart, Eugene passed away suddenly on the evening of January 29th at the Kelowna General Hospital.

Although Eugene struggled with his health for an extensive time, he always had a very special way of making everyone around him feel happy. He will be dearly missed by his loving partner, Wendy Davidson, who has cared for him so greatly for many years. He will also be forever missed by his family; his sister Donna Pochinko; his sister in law Gwen Leeson, his two children and their spouses Sherry and George, and Rodney and Melanie and of course his six loving grandchildren, Sarah and Dave, Mitchell, Taylor, Courtney and Steffany. Eugene will always hold a very special place in the hearts and memories of his family members and his many friends.

Eugene is in a very special place now with lots of sugar and sweets, his very dear, predeceased wife, Loreen Leeson, his close brother, Wayne Leeson, and his parents, Victor and Reidun Leeson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Community Christ Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Drive.

Sorry to hear of Eugene's passing. Ray and I (June) Wonnek had so many good times with Eugene and Loren. Eugene will always be remember warmly in our hearts. We would like to pass along or deepest sympathies to Sherry & family, Rod and family, and other immediate family and friends.

It was a shock to learn of Gene's passing. We enjoyed our occasional neighbourly chats. May Wendy and Gene's family be granted the strength to carry on knowing that he is at peace.

Oh my goodness, I am shocked and very saddened to learn of Gene's passing. He was a good friend to both me and to Russ Earle. He was also an important part of a much larger covey of friends, including Josie and Marcel. I will see him in my memories of Kelowna outings - golf, Christmas parties, dances, St. Pius breakfasts and so much more. Even the "jiggle" machine in the corner of my bedroom was acquired at Gene's urging! I moved to Castlegar two years ago, but Gene and I kept in touch on Facebook. Rest now my cousin. Our love to Wendy, Sherry and all family. Louis and I are happy we got to spend a week with Eugene in September to add more happy memories from times spent with him. We will hold the memories close to our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear that cousin Eugene has passed. It has been many years since we last visited but I do remember his happy disposition. He looked so much like Uncle Victor.
