  • The first time I met Lori was when I was 16. She was a friend of my girlfriend at the time. I always remember first meeting her because my girlfriend's brother had put gum in my hair and Lori spent an hour or more washing my hair in the sink and combing out the gum. Many years later I moved to Vancouver and Lori and Deidra were my roommates. They were so kind and generous and made me feel like I had a new home in Vancouver. We used to drink wine on the porch and go dancing at 80's night at Luv Affair on Thursday nights. The last time I saw her, Lori made stuffed peppers for Deidra and I at her new apartment after we had all moved out of our "haunted house". I haven't seen her in years now. The things I will remember most about Lori are her love of music, how she could sew her own amazing clothes and how she was a truly caring person. I'm so sorry for your loss. -Chad Greenway Jan 2, 2012

  • I can say that Lori was one of my best friends. So many important experimental music records and genre films that make up a big part of my present career I listened to, collected, and watched first with Lori. Those days in Kelowna were so much fun and a major developmental period for both of us. My deepest condolences. Sam McKinlay Jan 2, 2012
  • My deepest condolences to Lori's family. I hung out with Lori back in high school 8-12 at KLO, I remember looking up to her and she introduced me to some cool music I never would have heard, we had gone to some fun gigs together. She was always uplifting to be around and had a peaceful way about her and she respected people, I think the last time I saw Lori was in Vancouver she was with Deidra, Chad, and a couple others, we ate at Denny's early one morning and I felt so great to see Lori again after grad I remember what she was wearing because she had such a great fashion sense and a cool furniture. She made me feel so at home at her new apartment. Lori, thank you for your friendship, peacefulness, and love ....an old friend Jenny Zahara Beston. Jan 2, 2012

  • I was Lori's prom date, as well as one of Lori's closest friends since high school. I would say that Lori was probably the most special female friend that I've ever had in my life. She was always there for me no matter what and we shared so many amazing times together that I wouldn't even know where to begin. In my life, I was never one for having too many female friends.. yet Lori was an exception. Simply because it was impossible to stay away from her charm, her wit, her presence, and her ability to be the perfect friend. I can't believe she's gone, and it crushes me every time I think about it. She truly is the hardest person that I've ever had to say goodbye to.

Forever in my heart Lori - Mike Mckinlay Jan 3, 2012

  • My dear friend,

There is so much to celebrate about you. During our time in Vancouver you were my closest friend and like a second sister. We were room mates through three different apartments and then later neighbours in the same building. You were such a good friend to me and I completely adored you. You loved your friends unconditionally and had such an open, caring, generous heart and spirit. You were such a bright light that truly enjoyed life and all of the beautiful things in it.
Thank-you always and forever for being in my life. So many happy memories.. xoxo

  • So many memories. I remember you sharing fond memories of being a kid and eating in the kitchen with April. I remember your beautiful skirt that you made from a scarf from France. I remember your love of kitchenware and vintage knick knacks. I remember you going to VCC everyday to make something of yourself. I remember how fast you walked around Vancouver and I struggled to keep up with you. I remember you and Deidra being two peas in a pod. I remember going to Videomatica so you could show me cool films that you knew about through Sam. I remember being at your wedding and how you and Tim sat with your grandparents. I remember meeting your cats, your little loves. I remember seeing you this past summer and how even though years had gone by you were still the loving, kind and considerate person I had always known. I'm so glad we got to catch up, I'll hold those days close to my heart when I think about you. Lori, I'll miss you so much.

  • Gosh - it's such a shock that Lori is gone - she was such a great person. We were friends in high school and spent many years hanging out, watching moves, listening to music, chopping our hair, laughing, arguing and being kids. They were great times and I feel humbled and honoured that I got to spend as much time with you as I did. I send my condolences to the family - and especially to April as I know how much Lori loved and looked up to you! She will always be with you.

    Sylvia Farago Jan 7, 2012

I was so saddened to hear of your tragic loss through Marg last week. I can't begin to imagine the pain you and your family are feeling. After reading all the condolences I have been touched by the feeling she was a wonderful person. Lori has left a wonderful legacy of remembrance for all whose lives she touched - you must be so proud. I truly hope that my thoughts and prayers added to all the others will help in some small way to easy the hearts of all of your family.
