LASSMANN, Laura "Hazel" Amy

LASSMANN, Laura

We say goodbye to a kind and generous woman who left us much too soon on March 12, 2018 at the age of 89.

Hazel was born at Vancouver General Hospital on January 15, 1929, minutes before her twin brother, Arthur (Butch). At the age of 10 years old the family, Mom, Dad, sisters Abbey, Ida, Joan and 'the twins' moved to Squamish. It was there Hazel met the love of her life, Harry and they married February 2, 1948. The couple had 4 children, Max, David, Diane and Laura.

After the passing of Harry, Hazel moved to Eagle Grove Estates in Squamish and remained there until 2005 when she moved to Oakside Manor in Salmon Arm to be closer to her girls. In 2009, she moved to Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong where she stayed until her passing.

Hazel was predeceased by her husband Harry, her eldest son Max, her father Alfred, her mother May, her sisters Abbey, Ida & Joan, and her brother Art (Butch), plus many of her brother and sister-in-laws. Hazel will be missed by her remaining 3 children; David Lassmann, Diane Rhodes, Laura Wirachowsky (Greg),daughter-in-law Marlene Lassmann (Max), 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her remaining sister-in-law Joan Julien and her many nephews, nieces and friends.

Hazel will be remembered as a happy, friendly woman who loved to socialize with friends and family. She loved music and singing, and had a great love for life.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Alternatives Funeral 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Variety
