LAPORTE, Kathleen

April 2, 1936 - October 17, 2021

On Sunday morning, October 17, 2021, Kathleen "Kathy" LaPorte passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85 years young.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents David Daniels & Edith Yellowquill; her husband Johnny LaPorte; son Feron; daughter Wanda LaPorte; her sister Gladys Hearns; and her brother Louis Daniels.

Born April 2, 1936, in Edwin, Long Plain Indian Reserve, Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her sons George, Jerome, and Reg; daughter Vannessa; daughters-in-law Tracy Rose-LaPorte, Laura S., Debbie S., Violet D., Cheryl W., Jen G., Jen I., Deb D.; grandchildren Jamie, Johnathan, Ashley, Randy, Keayha, Julie, Dallas, Shannon, Wanda, and Erin; and her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as numerous friends.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. A Wake will follow at Long Plain Reservation at the Spirit Lodge, all night, starting at 6:00 PM. Prayers and words of comfort followed by a feast will take place Tuesday, October 26, 2021, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, the service will end with a private interment at Long Plain Main Cemetery.
