KORPIAHO, Alfred

KORPIAHO, Alfred

Mr. Alfred Korpiaho, 85 years of age, of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Hilkka, their three daughters, and their families. Alfred was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario on June 24, 1931. He left his family with fond memories of camping, fishing and travelling. Alfred and Hilkka relocated to Kelowna, BC, in 2010. He loved the milder climate and the company of his beloved dog, Tippy. Alfred was a happy soul who loved to laugh.

God looked around his garden
and found an empty space,
He then looked down upon this earth
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest;
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

He knew the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb,
so he closed your weary eyelids
and whispered, Peace be thine.
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

    Dearest Hilkka and family.

How we loved our conversations and visits with this special man. He was a gentle soul, devoted family man and genuine from the heart. How we will always miss him but knowing him has made us better people. This world would be a much better place with more Alfreds..God bless him, our love always..Patrick and Adele Freeman

Alfred was always a kind, generous and interesting man. He entertained me with his stories and keen updates of the news every time I visited him. He was one of a kind and will be missed by me very much. So sorry for your loss.
