KERSTENS, Rose Marie

KERSTENS, Rose Marie - Passed away on June 22nd, 2009 at the age of 63 with her family by her side.

Survived by her loving son Kevin, his wife Karen, her cherished grandchildren Harper and Paisley, her younger brother Tom Gallivan and many other extended family members and close friends in both Canada and Virginia. Sadly predeceased by her husband Kenneth Kerstens.

Rose Marie was born and grew up in New Brunswick. Following her marriage to Ken, she dedicated her life to her family and raising Kevin, living in Ottawa, Comox and Kingston. She and Ken then moved to Virginia, but Rose Marie always kept Canada in her heart. She was a nurse and in all aspects of her life loved caring for others. Her greatest joy was spending time with those closest to her – particularly Harper and Paisley who were her kindred spirits. She loved RVing, making new friends, staying up late to chat, her favourite TV shows and hockey.

Our deepest thanks to Dr. Jan McIntosh and the staff from Kelowna General Hospital and the Central Okanagan Hospice House for befriending and caring so compassionately for Rose Marie and to all of her caregivers in Virginia. You provided great comfort to both her and her family.

Rest well Rose Marie.

A memorial service will be held on July 18th at 1:30 PM at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario.
