Obituaries

Went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the age of 67. Survived by her loving husband of 47 years Edward; daughter Kathy Prochnau (Lewis) of Ottawa, ON; son Stephen Jabs (Michelle) of Calgary, AB; five grandchildren: Emily, Kristine and Nathan Prochnau; Andrew and Matthew Jabs; brother Ken Schamuhn (Marie) of Blind Bay, BC; step-mother Frieda Schamuhn; nieces, nephews and extended family. Sadly predeceased by her mother Anna Schamuhn, nephew Nathan Schamuhn, and her father Reuben Schamuhn. The family wishes to express a special thank you to her family doctor, Dr. A. Hignell and Doctors B. Czerkawski, G. Fyles and R. Fairey of the BC Cancer Agency for their exceptional care over the last 22 years. We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to Sherrill Fix of the BC Cancer Agency whose courtesy and professionalism went beyond the call of duty and to Donna Dent who cared for Sharon in her last months like one of her own. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:30 am at Trinity Baptist Church, 1905 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Rev. P. Tim Schroeder officiating. Interment to follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3 or to the Gideons, c/o 593 Spruceview Place South, Kelowna, BC, V1V 1S8.
