HUGHES, Eric Michael
May 31, 1986 - July 12, 2011

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and untimely passing of Eric at Kelowna General Hospital on July 12, 2011, due to injuries sustained from a cycling accident.

Eric will be greatly missed by his loving brother Scott Hughes, his mother Cindy Quinn (Marty) of Beavercreek, Ohio, and his father Leonard Hughes (Janine Tucker) of London, Ontario, grandparents Barbara Rattew and Keith Rattew of Ottawa, Ontario, and Olive Hughes of Forest, Ontario. He will also be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles, Vicki Ghadban, Harry Ghadban, Susan Poisson, and Pierre Poission of Ottawa, Ontario, Lawrence Hughes (Mike Bower) of Toronto, Ontario, Leigh-Ann Hughes (Karen DeMoor) of Calgary, Alberta. Recently predeceased by his grandfather Leonard Hughes of Forest, Ontario. Eric will also be missed by his cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Eric's many friends will miss his free spirit and zest for life. Although Eric was taken from us before his time, his family and friends take great comfort in knowing that many others will benefit from his generous gift of life in the form of organ donations.

Two Memorial Services will be held. In Kelowna a service will be held on Saturday, July 16th, 12:00 Noon at Carver's, Inn at Big White, followed by a reception from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A second Memorial Service and Reception will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 23rd, at Forest United Church, 21 James Street North, Forest, Ontario.

The family would like to extend their tremendous appreciation for the exceptional care and support that Eric received while at Kelowna General Hospital. The family would also appreciate donations in his memory to the Critical Care Unit of the KGH Foundation.
