HUGHES, Thomas “Ellis”

Thomas Ellis Hughes was born on February 25, 1926 and passed away on February 13, 2018 at the age 91. He is survived by his loving wife Joan; daughters Susan (Ron) Roach, Anna (Griff) Hughes; sons Brad, Jon (Lynn), Gerry (Kathy); grandchildren: Korynna, Jay, Cody, Sarah, Malte; great grandchildren: Justin, Matt, Elisa, Noah, Tom; many devoted nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Canuck Place Children

Dear Joan and family,

It seems unimaginable that this wonderful man has left us. Our world is indeed a sadder place without him. Ellis and Joan enriched our lives in so very many ways. We continually count our blessings for having met them all. Joan will miss Ellis beyond belief. We pray good memories and faith with provide her and family with the tools to move forward. He definitely left us all many joyful moments.

To the Hughes Family....so many years as a fabulous neighbor in Lakeview Heights. Ellis' kind, gentle manner was always a treat for us, as kids and more so as adults. A sad time always and a good time to cherish the memories and the special moments over all the amazing years. Keep his memory alive with his grandkids by sharing the stories and keep the sharing the kindness.

Dear Joan and family, I was sad to read of Ellis's passing. Ellis was such a kind and decent man and I am glad I had the opportunity to know him. I have many fond memories of time spent with him and your family. You will all miss him so much but I know you will each go on to live your lives in ways that will honour his memory. To my dear friend and neighbor, Joan. Ellis was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly. Meeting you both was a blessing to my life. I can't imagine the loss you and your precious family are feeling. Card games just won't be the same without his smirk when he's about to kick our butts! And no one makes coffee like Ellis! I will cherish every memory, there are many, and know that all of our lives have been blessed by knowing him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all through this very difficult time.
