  The good memories are too many to put into this small space. Joyce and family our sincere sympathy goes out to you and yours, the snowmobile trips I for one will never forget (Buck Lake). Matty and I would wait on the steps for the sound of snowmobiles, no cell phones back then! You were a mentor to all of us that had the great fortune to know you.

  I have such great memories of Gordy. He was always ready to tease Heather and I. As young kids he fascinated us with his stories about trapping and his teasing. I vividly remember sitting in the basement in Beaverdell- low ceiling, smelling of wood smoke, with different pelts hanging-while he told us those stories. I will never forget him telling Heather that he saw her tire tracks in the snow at the Curling Club (doing donuts!) and that he remembered everyone's tire tracks so he always knew who it was...She was more than a little scared that he would tell Mom and Dad! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  Dear Joyce and family, as you know we grew up together in Beaverdall but I moved away and didn't often see you and Gord. Of course with Rose and Roy next door. I heard lots of tales while visiting there and even got in some walks. They were so close to you and Gord and family. It's been some tough years for all of you but there will still be a hole in your heart for sometime. My thoughts are with you.

  To Joyce and family, we send to you our love and prayers. Gordy and John spent a lot of time together when we lived in Beaverdell, hunting and fishing. We had many laughs together. Sorry we lost touch when we moved away, our prayers for strength during this time of mourning, much love to all.

  Our deepest condolences to Joyce and family, so sorry to hear of Gordy's passing. We all have loving stories and many memories of our years in Beaverdell. I'm sure he'd have a big smile on his face knowing that the turkeys are still in the yard and being fed!! His many trips to the dump, waving to everyone on his way and stopping to talk, always had a story to tell. Cheers Gordy.

  To the Houlind family, our sympathies. I became a resident and neighbour to the Houlinds in Beaverdale in the early seventies. Gordy took note of my arrival and I soon felt at home by his relaxed and welcoming approach to me. He was indeed a character, great sense of humour, always interesting, open minded, said it the way he saw it. He, Joyce and family gave me reason to stop by whenever I travelled through years later.   The Frederick family is very sad to here of Gordy's passing. Gordy (Homer) was a father figure for me for a lot of years in Beaverdell and all the years hunting and working and all the things he taught me will never be forgotten. Gordy and Joyce were a big part of my life and it will remain with me always.

  Dear Joyce and family, We are so sorry to hear of Gordy's passing. So many hours were spent with the Houlind family. Hours of laughing, talking and even snowmobiling. His humor was brilliant. His anecdotes, including stories of family life, history of Beaverdell or his trials of growing tomatoes in the green house, kept us entertained. His memory will always remain.
