HEREDY, Magdalena Eva

Heredy, Magdalena Eva 88 years young, ended her beautiful journey on earth April 8, 2017 in the loving care of Hospice House in Kelowna, B.C. She will be lovingly remembered by her family Andrew Jr. (Noid), Chrissy, Zsuzsi and granddaughter Kristi, and son Zoltan. She will also be remembered by relatives Paul Jean, Steve, Kathi, Brian, Adele and family, Coleen and son Kyle, Errol Abramson.

Born in Csorna, Hungary Oct. 28, 1928 Magda was one of 11 children. She moved to Budapest to be a hairstylist and marry Andrew S. Heredy in 1948. During the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 they fled with Andrew Jr. in hand immigrating to England and then to their first Canadian home in Edmonton in 1957. As a young family, they moved to Stony Plain, Alberta where she owned and operated the (Rainbow Beauty Salon). In 1971, she moved to Calgary opening hair salons (Simone Van Kleef Coiffures) and (Head on Hair Design). She was predeceased by her loving husband Andrew Sr. in 1985. Magda found a new man in her life Maurice Bernard in 1997 and moved to Kelowna to be married in 1998. Magda loved the fashion world and the glitter that came with it and you would be hard pressed to find a day where she did not look amazing. No occasion small or big would go by without her special presentation flare. She loved the lifestyle and the natural beauty of the Okanagan and Kelowna but most of all to be close to her family. Magda will be remembered by many customers and associates as a compassionate person, by family as a great cook and a loving and caring mother and grandmother and as a great friend to many.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 21, 2017 at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Rd.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation (www.kghfoundation.com).

Magda was a wonderful "best friend" to Jeanie. She always had kind words for Paul and he adored her. Magda's words of encouragement were appreciated by all around her. She always sparkled in appearance and personality. We will miss her greatly.

I will treasure always my visits with Magda. I never knew that she was a hairdresser but makes sense as she always ran her fingers through my hair. We had many good visits lots of tears. Goodbye my sweet friend! Pamela Malmsten.

Magda was a very lovely, kind & considerate lady. Even when she was not feeling well, she still expressed her gratitude so sincerely. Heartfelt condolences to her family.

My love to your family. I will always remember your Mother with her sparkling style and loving heart. She was a dear caring friend to my Mother Margaret for many wonderful years. Peace be with you dear Magda and may we all have a little of your glitter in our step.
