HENNIG, Willi (Willy) - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Willi Hennig on January 27, 2012. He was born on August 12, 1925 in Paprotnia, Poland.

He was predeceased by his wife Dorothea, his parents Johann and Karoline, his brothers Karl, Otto, Artur, Johann, Albert and sisters Ella and Melanie. He is survived by his sister Irma Kuehn of Germany and brothers-in-law Hans Franke of Germany and Wolfgang Franke of Strathmore, AB.

Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1953, he spent the post war years in England and West Germany. He settled in Calgary and worked for a large bakery till his retirement. In 1981 they moved to Kelowna. Due to declining health and a fall he was confined to health care facilities.

Funeral service will be held at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 10:00 am with Pastor Ed Skutshek of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
