Sending our sincere condolences. Doc Henderson was one of the last of the old school vets. He was sensible yet compassionate. His no-nonsense approach was so refreshing and he was truly such a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor. He shall be missed but never forgotten.

Mary, we are so saddened to hear of Dad's passing. He was such a great man with an infectious smile and twinkle in his eye. As a vet he was sensible and compassionate and most issues "were a long way from its heart". Loved your Dad and he will be remembered by so many. He will forever be with you in your heart.

Mary, so sad to hear of your dad's passing. He was such a good person and vet. I can remember him at the Penticton horse show teaching my horse to back up as I had taught her to rear!!!! (Kids!) Then later on he was the coach for roping. He was so good with us kids. Heart felt condolences from Gerry and I.

Dr. Henderson the best vet Kelowna had. We heard of him through my Godparents who had cows. Doc Henderson looked after my horse Dixie and our little dog Cuddles. This is how good Dr Henderson was, in 1977 our little dog at the age of 4 yrs old started having convulsions and we took her to Doc Henderson. Her health declined and Doc Henderson took her to his living quarters over night for a few nights . She passed away , he was so saddened by it and wondered why a 4 yr old dog who seems to be healthy die suddenly. He did an autopsy on her and found her brain that controlled the heart was deteriorating. We thought OMG the bill will insane ut the bill was medication and 1night. The autopsy, burial, the other 2 nights and machines that kept her alive was never charged by him. He was so compassionate over this little dog he said I didn't have the heart to charge you for the rest , I needed to know why he said. He was a very nice man and the best vet. My condolences to his daughter, and I'm glad to share this story of this remarkable man. Sandi Freier-Giddings

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Doc! He took such good care of our horses as well as our cattle later on. He was always so practical, knowledgeable, kind and reliable. I also went to school with Judy and so had that further connection. We shall miss this outstanding vet and all around great person.

I think everyone loved your dad. There are always plenty of fond stories regarding your dad amongst those of us who used him as our vet. He never overcharged and aways was sensible about treatment. He was also plenty of fun to be around. I remember when Doc was taking Shannon and me someplace with the horses when Glendolyn and I discovered that we both could yodel. Shannon was horrified, and Doc was loving every minute of it.

Mary, so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. He lived a short walk from our place on Leathead Road and tended to our horse, dog and cats many times, and never took a penny from us. He was a kind man and we had a lot of respect for him. Although we hadn't seen him for many years, we often thought of him and his caring ways with animals.

Our condolences Mary in the loss of your dad. Dr. Henderson was our vet as well and I always appreciated his humor and also that he was a straight shooter. He did not beat around the issues but came right out to give us the info. He was a really good guy. He will be remembered forever in your heart!

Hugs to you, Roger and Erika OReilly
