He Called My Name

Auldene Kathleen Harkema (nee Aichelle, Hasper) who was born in Theodore, Saskatchewan, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ at age 92 on December 30, 2018 in Kelowna, BC. Auldene is survived by her loving children Sandra (Neil) Leonhardt, Valerie (Bob) Ireland, Dale (Sharon) Aichelle, Larry (Cheryl) Aichelle, Debby (Tom) Hendren along with 30 grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law, 33 great grandchildren and great grandchildren-in-law as well as extended family and "adopted" family who she loved and nurtured as her own.Auldene was preceded in death by her first husband (Albert Aichelle), her parents (Emily and Manual Hasper), 4 sisters, 2 brothers and their spouses, her second husband (Rev. William Harkema), daughter-in-law (Linda) and two infant great grandsons (Josiah and Jackson). Auldene will be remembered for her loving and serving heart which compelled her to care for the needy and lonely she encountered. Throughout her life she touched and impacted many as she served in her church and community as a leader to children, youth, women's groups and on numerous committees. She served for 20+ years as a volunteer and then Volunteer Coordinator for Pastoral Care at Kelowna General Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at Evangel Church 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:30pm.     Dear family of Auldene Harkema,
    She was a wonderful, loving, humble woman of God who loved and served her family and others passionately.
    Wonderful memories of her time at St. Paul's United Church when she was also Pastoral Care Co-Ordinator at KGH.
    She lived a full life of service and was so adored by her large family.
    God Bless you all from St. Paul's United Church and love from Beryl Baldeo.
