HAAHEIM, Delores "Lois"

HAAHEIM, Delores

Delores “Lois” Marie Haaheim (nee Campbell)
February 28, 1938 – February 5, 2018
Lois passed away suddenly following a stroke on Feb. 5 with family members by her side. She was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1938, the spirited fourteenth child of John Michael Campbell and Margaret Dwyer. She grew up in Hay Cove on Cape Breton Island, N.S. with her 15 brothers and sisters. She completed her training as a registered nurse in London, Ontario, and soon followed some of her sisters and her mother out West. Lois met her husband Don while working as a nurse in Vancouver and they were married in 1963. They moved to Kelowna in 1986 and just recently celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary.
She was the doting mother of four, grandmother of 18, and great-grandmother of three. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Laurel (Brian Dennison), grandchildren Rachel (Donald); Ben (Louise) and great-granddaughters Persephone and Alethea; Nicholas; Jacob (Kaatrina) and great-grandson Theodore; grandchildren Cecilia, Eleanor and Magnus Dennison; son Allen (Hayley), grandchildren Laurel and Colin; son Darryl (Kimberly), grandchildren Ryan, Ava, Audrey and Evelyn; and son Trevor (Kerry), and grandchildren Sally, Erik, Calla, Xander, and Maximus.
Lois loved golfing and spent more than 25 years walking Sunset Ranch Golf Course on Ladies’ Day and a few other days a week. But more than anything, she loved her family fiercely.
Lois was also greatly loved and will be missed by her surviving sisters Carmel, Cata, Regis, and Norah and her many, many nieces and nephews.
Please join us for the funeral Mass, to be held at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Ave., Kelowna, BC on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2pm. Condolences maybe sent by visiting firstmemorialkelowna.com. Arrangement entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna, BC ph:250-762-2299.

    Don, Trevor and family,
A sad chairlift ride as Trevor told me of Lois's passing. Great memories of Lois's leadership in the race office and fun times at our kid's alpine races in the 80/90's.

Shocked and very sad to hear my dear friend and fellow golf companion of 14 years has passed away. She will be dearly missed. She was a lovely lady and I was fortunate to know and golf with her. She always amazed me at how fit she was and still walked the course. I will always cherish the many fond memories of our times together.
Our condolences to Don and her family.

My family and Lois' mother-in-law and father-in-law were friends and neighbours in the Campbell Valley area of Langley in the 1940s +. While I was a struggling summer student, I roomed with Don & Lois in the mid 1960s when they lived in Prince George. Their kindness was most appreciated.
    My condolences to the family.

I knew Lois through golfing at Sunset Ranch these past 11 years. Lois was a youthful, spirited person. I thought, if Lois can walk this course...I CAN !!
I worked on a few committees with Lois over the years and found her to be a take charge, backing up her decisions kind of gal. Lois always had a smile and friendly words . I'll really miss Lois.

I was so shocked to hear of Lois's passing, we sat together at sunsets ladies Christmas luncheon, she was so looking forward to her trip down south in January. Her grandkids were so special to her, also the times spent at the cottage with her family. We had lots of fun playing golf together and we will all miss her very much.
