Obituaries

My beautiful Mom passed away on November 6. Her pain and her heartaches are now gone but left with us are the memories of a wonderful mother by me; a loving and caring daughter by Nana and Papa. Bernice and Stan; a close sister, Sandra; caring cousins Steve, Teresa, and Madison, and Robb, Shauna and Blair; Uncle Les and Aunt Dorothy.

Many of Mom's friends visited her over the past months and we can't thank them enough for making things a bit easier for her day to day. I am not sure that Mom got to thank all of these friends the way she wanted to, but they know they were loved and appreciated. She especially wanted to thank Shelley, Joanne, Candace, Dr. Don and Kim from the Peachland Dental Centre, Jane, Ruth, Karen and Joe. Tasha and Tyler. Barb and Richard. Louise, and Erin. I know that I have missed many other friends, but I know that you will forgive me. Drs. McGiness and Livingston helped Mom immeasurably. Staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice House are sincerely attentive to their patients and treat them all as being special.

Mom liked adventurous sports. She made over 300 parachute jumps, including night dives; took up scuba diving and loved it; she taught me how to ski; we took extensive camping trips and vacations. Her sports passion was riding horses. She rode many trails; jumped many hurdles, and enjoyed many fox hunts (no real fox in attendance) riding Dusty and Kisa.

Mom requested no funeral service.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Sunday, Nov 18, at 2:00 at our house at 2299 Lillooet Crescent. All of Mom's friends are invited to attend. Hopefully, some will want to share their stories about fun times with Mom.
