GALIGAN, Yvette Margrite Mary (nee Boilard)

GALIGAN, Yvette Margrite Mary (nee Boilard) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Yvette in Kelowna, on May 18, 2017 at the age of 74. She will be forever missed by her daughters, Marcia Waller, Kimberley Alcock, Paige (Rob) Gilmore and Nicole Alcock; cherished grandchildren, Marc, Jonathan (Michelle), Adam, Kieran, and Grace. She will also be lovingly remembered by stepchildren, Grant and Stacey Galigan; their children; her brother, Leo (Loraine); sister, Rita (Ron); nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by Stan, (her husband of 25 years) in 2012 and parents, Honore and Leona Boilard; siblings, Cecile, Ray, Marie, and Maurice. Yvette was born on July 30, 1942, in Trail and grew up in Fruitvale. She lived in Edmonton and Winnipeg for a few years before returning to British Columbia with her young family and has lived in Kelowna since 1972. Yvette will be remembered most for her great devotion to her family, her generous heart and her deep spirituality. Her desire to help others in need will always be remembered. All who knew Yvette, will also remember her incredible vivacity. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Country Church, 12025 Oceola Rd, on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM. The family wishes to thank Kelowna General Hospital CCU Social Worker Chris Jenner, CCU nurse Myrna, emergency and CCU physicians for their compassionate care and Pastor Sandy Colero and Elder Bill Clark of Lake Country Church.     To Yvette, memories that I so treasure. She was the "first" bartender at Four Seasons Racquet Club in the early 70s and was an inspiration to me for many years. She was a true woman with true convictions on life. She will be right there organizing and getting ready or her new life.

    So sorry to hear of Yvette's passing. I used to work with her at the Super Save station. I remember her great sense of humour and her beautiful smile.

    Sorry to hear of your mom's passing, she was a great lady, neighbor growing up, and loving mother to 4 wonderful girls.
