FYDELL, Marjorie Ellen

FYDELL, Marjorie Ellen

FYDELL: Marjorie Ellen. March 19, 1930 - January 16, 2018 . It is with deep sadness the family announces Marjorie Ellen Fydell passed away peacefully with family by her side in the evening of January 16, 2018, at the age of 87 years. Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, William (Bill) Fydell (2016), parents Herman and Orpha Sitter, brothers Earl and Robert and infant twin sisters Orpha and Emily. Marjorie is survived by her three children: Deborah Ann (Doug) Ashley, Thomas William (Deb Clem), and Patricia Lynn (Michael) Borg and grandchildren Noa and Asia Borg, brother Donald (Carol) Sitter, nieces and nephews in Ontario, and her cherished canine Sammy. Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario and left home after high school to pursue a career with the Royal Bank where she met the love of her life, William. Once married, the couple and their three children moved to various cities in Ontario and Quebec, as Bill pursued his career with the S.S. Kresge Company and Canadian Tire. The family settled in Montreal and their love for skiing was founded. In 1972 they moved across Canada with their 3 children and relocated to Kelowna. They built a wonderful life in Kelowna living on the lake and skiing at Big White. Affectionately known as "The Warden", Marjorie took pride in being available to everyone in need. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed many years at the family ski chalet at Big White. She always had a pot of hot homemade soup simmering on the stove and couldn't wait to hear all about the adventures. Marjorie was a devoted and committed wife supporting Bill's business pursuits working alongside him as his Office Manager in Mortgage Investing, Land Development, stock market investing and operating Lakeside RV Park at Cook and Lakeshore Roads (now Playa Del Sol). He couldn't have done it without her. Marjorie was a traditional woman who loved cooking, spending time in her rose garden and being home with her family. As a breast cancer survivor of over 30 years, she demonstrated strength and faced every challenge with courage. She was a compassionate, generous woman who gave freely without hesitation. She lovingly supported her husband, children and grandchildren with all of their goals and achievements. She will be dearly missed, remembered and cherished by her loving children and grandchildren. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the loving and caring staff at Three Links Manor for the care of Marjorie during her short stay with them. We took comfort in knowing she was well cared for. A family gathering celebrating Marjorie's life will be held at a later date.
