FUNKE, Inge Maria

FUNKE, Inge Maria

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Oma and friend, Inge Maria Funke. She passed away suddenly and peacefully in the early morning hours of September 24, 2015. She leaves behind her three children; Frank, Sylvia (Rick) and Eric (Kylie), and seven grandchildren that she loved so much; Michael, Ashley, Kendre, Broegan, Luke, Joshua and Hannah and one great granddaughter Jaylynn. She also leaves behind countless amounts of friends that helped her on a regular basis and that she loved as if they were her own.

Inge was born in Klaffenbach, Germany on Jan. 27th 1929. She immigrated to Canada with her husband Manfred in the early 50s. After living in Toronto and Vancouver, they settled in Kelowna in 1974. Our mother was a beautiful soul that had kindness, compassion and a smile for everyone she met. She left a positive impact on so many people. Her passions were her family, her Lord Jesus, and the cacti and flowers she lovingly grew. She lived her life through God in everything she did. She is now dancing in heaven with that big smile she always wore. We will miss her beyond words.

There will be a celebration of her life October 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Emmanuel Assembly Church in West Kelowna at 2600 Hebert Road.

So sorry to hear about Inge! Your mom impacted a lot of people and talked about her loving family all the time. She loved her Lord and lived her life a shinning example of His love not only living a life pleasing to Him but loving and caring unselfishly for others. We will miss her singing, smiling face Sunday mornings and especially my talks with her (and her homemade chocolates). Your mom was a prayer warrior and prayed endlessly for all those in need that she knew and even those she didn't. This is not a goodbye......just a see you later!

So very sorry to hear about Inge, she was such an beautiful lady. I knew her from church and used to talk to her when her and her husband used to walk daily where I lived. Bitter sweet. She will be missed her on earth but she is in the care of Jesus now. She is missed.

Loving thoughts and prayers out to her family.

I miss you, mom - but I am so happy that you now have the eternal reward that you so richly deserve. I am so grateful for your life and the true Christian example that you always displayed. It is mostly because of your life and testimony that I serve the Lord Jesus Christ today, even after all these years. I happily give you over to the arms of Jesus. I love you mom.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. - 2 Timothy 4:8
