FEHR, James "Jim" Douglas

FEHR, James

October 17, 1940 - February 21, 2021

In the early morning hours of Sunday, February 21, 2021, Jim Fehr passed away quietly at the age of 80 at Kelowna General Hospital after a short fight with pneumonia, and a broken heart. Jim longed to be reunited with his wife of 55 years, Victoria Marlene Fehr, who passed away only 4 months prior.

Survived by his only son Ryan (and his wife Nicole); grandchildren Jaymie (husband Colten), Emily, and Noah; great-grandson Nixon; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and countless good friends, Jim was predeceased by his wife Victoria; parents Jakob and Ida; sisters Linda and Joyce; brothers Ivan, Sid, and Eugene.

Born in Hanna, AB, Jim will be remembered for his love of sports (and a dislike for the refs!), for his love for camping, fishing, and the outdoors, and for the wood pile he always kept stacked 7' tall at their once permanent site at Happy Valley campground! Jim often reminisced of his involvement with the Kelowna Kinsmen club and the K-40's, and all of the good times that he enjoyed with all of his friends there. He retired after 35+ years in the auto parts industry, and split most of his time between watching sports, and being with the good friends he enjoyed at Holiday Park.

Due to the local restrictions regarding gatherings, no formal funeral assembly will be organized.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Muscular Dystrophy Canada in Jim's memory, muscle.akaraisin.com.

Pie irons, your Mom & Dad always made sure when there was a campfire, the pie irons came out. Who knew that bread & applesauce could taste so good ??

Hopefully they are somewhere enjoying these treats together again!
