EPP, Rick Norman

EPP, Rick Norman

Born in Regina, SK, Rick passed away Sept.29, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer but he wanted us all to know, "He never gave up!" His humble, determined spirit was no different in life than it was in his struggle with death. Rick was an inspiration to everyone who knew him and he will be forever loved and remembered this way. His positive attitude and selfless nature made him an extraordinary person. Because of his appreciation for nature, and love of the outdoors, he and his then wife Cathy moved to BC many years ago. Being an avid golfer, he managed to take advantage of every golf course in this beautiful province, especially the Okanagan. Rick appreciated all sports and had a soft spot for animals. He was a physically fit person who paid attention to eating healthy and exercising. Rick was an extremely hard working person who was employed in sales most of his life. He will be remembered as someone who was always smiling, willing to lend a helping hand, and always being generous of spirit. His great sense of humor was a joy to witness and will be missed on a daily basis. He was a true gentleman until the very end. Predeceased by his father, Albert Epp and survived by his mother, Esther Epp, his sister Allison Epp and brother-in-law Ron Boros, his cousin Lori Paidel and many other family members, friends and colleagues.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you for the extraordinary care shown by Kim Bodner, Dr. Ed Hardy, Dr. Bob Hariri, Cameron Rentiers, Cathy Campbell, and all the other kind people whose love and support during the last year of Rick's journey, will never be forgotten.

In the words of Deanna Robinson, "I have heard, (and know this to be true) that the road to heaven is lined with manicured fairways and groomed greens. Hit them long and straight."

A tribute to Rick's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Red Cross, Cancer Clinic or SPCA. Messages of condolence can be sent to [email protected] and will be forwarded to the family.
