EMERY, Victor Fredric

EMERY, Victor Fredric

It is with a heavy heart that I, James Emery, announce the passing of my father Victor Fredric Emery, August 26, 2015. Diagnosed with esophageal cancer in the spring, dad valiantly began a battle that would ultimately result in his demise.

Vic was born in Vancouver on October 11, 1932, and moved through the British Columbia interior as a young child. Family adversity forced him to become a provider for his family at 12 years old, so he joined a shoring crew in an underground mine. When they discovered his age and forced him to quit, he got onto a forestry crew and drove a logging truck well into his teens. As an adult, Vic ran a government crusher for the ministry of highways, drove concrete truck for the construction of the original floating bridge on Okanagan Lake, and provided 31 years of service to the City Of Kelowna in

So sad to hear about Vic. He spent many hours at our shop getting his car worked on. Always had good conversations with him.
