The family moved to Westbank, and was one of the first to build on Pritchard Drive. All 3 kids went to school in Westbank.
Deb's mother died from cancer when Deb was in her teens.
Deb met and married her first husband in Kelowna. They moved to Winnipeg, started a business and a family. Michael was born in 1977, Michelle in 1979. Unfortunately, her son Michael died in 1995, at 17.
Debbie went back to school and became a care aide, and worked in long term care. Later, Deb and Michelle moved to Kelowna to be near Deb's family and friends that she grew up with. She met Aaron in 1998 and they married in 2001.
Debbie worked in Kelowna, at Windsor Manor as a care aid, then at Village By The Station, in Pentiction. She was still working at Village by the Station when she was diagnosed with cancer this past July.
She leaves behind her spouse Aaron; daughter Michelle (Dayle), grandchildren Camryn and Gavin; siblings Gary and Christine; extended family, friends and her work family from Windsor Manor and Village by the Station.
Deb was a thoughtful, compassionate person. She was a hard worker and truly cared about her work and the people in her personal life. She will be dearly missed.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.
A celebration of life will be happening at the Peachland Activity Centre, 5673 Beach Ave on Saturday Oct 30th at 2pm.
